China Telecom to Launch Preferential 3G Bundles on Campuses
BEIJING, Jul 27, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Telecom Corporation Ltd. (SEHK: 0728 and NYSE: CHA) plans to carry out a round of nationwide 3G service promotion on campuses in the second half of 2009, citing a report.
Purchasing these appointed 3G mobile phones plus monthly voice, music and mobile Internet service packages worth CNY 19, CNY 39, and CNY 59, a student can enjoy CNY 300, CNY 600, CNY 900 worth of voice services from China Telecom for free, respectively. Earlier, the Chinese telecoms operator launched such service packages in several provinces and cities like Sichuan and Beijing.
Besides, China Telecom also plans to sell EVDO wireless broadband service packages to students with cost-free voice services worth 50% or 100% of the prices.
By far, China Telecom has launched more than ten types of student-oriented mobile phones branded with Nokia, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Huawei, and ZTE. And a certain number of coupons will be handed out to subsidize the purchase of such products.
