The Tacoma Sewer Utility Operations Division (TSUOD) has had a great deal of success marketing Tagro Mix, made from dewatered biosolids, sand and sawdust. In 1997, the wastewater treatment plant generated 4,238 dry tons of biosolids; more than half (2,285 dry tons) went toward Tagro Mix and Liquid Tagro production. The remaining biosolids were applied to agricultural and forest land.
